Septage Program
PFRWTA’s Septage Program provides a safe, regulated location for approved haulers to discharge domestic septage. All material is screened and monitored before entering the treatment process to protect plant operations and the environment. This service helps discourage improper disposal of septage, encourages routine and proper septic tank maintenance, and minimizes disposal costs by providing a convenient local treatment facility. The program is designed to accept and treat residential (domestic) septic tank waste. Commercially generated waste that is domestic in nature and biodegradable may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Authority accepts septage from localities within its planning area as a service to its member jurisdictions. Septage from localities outside the planning area may also be accepted with an approved Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the outside locality and the Authority. Depending upon the source location, waste haulers will pay either an inside or outside rate per gallon of waste accepted.
